Class Policies

By signing up for a class or workshop at Heart2Heart Knitting & Fiber Arts, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • Please be on time. Class will begin promptly and you will miss important information if you are more than 5 minutes late. 
  • Come to class prepared! If there is work to do during the week be sure to come to class ready. We will typically be building on skills from the previous lesson and week of practice, if you don’t come prepared you will miss out on learning. 
  •  Bring a “willing to try” attitude. You can do this! We are here to show you how! 
  •  Unless indicated, classes are for ages 18+. Classes and workshops for kids will be listed separately. 
  •  Payment is due at registration. If notice is given at least 7 days before the first scheduled class, you may transfer to another class or be issued store credit.
  •  You will be notified via email about class needs, reminders, and any updates.
     Please make sure Heart2Heart emails are not in your spam folder.
  • Emergencies happen. If possible let us know 48 hours in advance if you are unable to make a class. If properly notified we may be able to help you make up the class or issue store credit to be used on a future class or in the shop. 
  • Transfers and shop credit will NOT be given for no-shows. You must notify Heart2Heart if you will miss a class.
  • If nothing is fitting your needs or schedule, private and semi-private knitting lessons are available. 
  • Inclement weather- if we cancel or reschedule classes due to weather or instructor illness you will be notified ASAP by email. If the cancellation is made by the instructor, class will be rescheduled. If you cannot make the rescheduled time we will work with you to find another time or issue a partial refund.
  • We reserve the right to cancel class if less than 3 students sign up two days before class.
    You will be notified promptly if this happens.
     

Photos/Social Media

We post photos on social media (Facebook, Instagram) and our website so people can get a firsthand look at what classes, workshops, and events are like. It also helps us to promote classes and social gatherings. If there is a photo posted with you in it and you would appreciate us removing it, please email heart2heartknitting@gmail.com.  We will never post photos of a minor's face online without adult permission.  



Classes


Ready to tackle a full garment? This class walks you through all the essential steps to completing your first wearable sweater. We will use a top-down construction to minimize seams and allow for easy try-on and fit customization. Key techniques covered include understanding gauge (crucial for fit!), creating raglan increases for the perfect shoulder line, dividing for the body and sleeves, and finishing techniques. You'll leave with a beautiful, custom-fitted sweater in progress! Cost is for a bundle of four 1.5 hour classes + cost of materials.

In this class, you will learn all the foundational skills for knitting a basic, cuff-down sock. We will cover working in the round (using Magic Loop), creating a stretchy ribbed cuff, turning a traditional heel flap and gusset, and finishing with the seamless Kitchener stitch toe. Class project (pattern provided). Cost is for a bundle of four 1.5 hour classes + cost of materials

That stack of patterns won't knit or crochet itself! The hardest part of any project is often the very beginning. This hands-on workshop focuses entirely on transitioning from a printed page to a successful first few rows.

Discover the meditative rhythm of Tunisian crochet! This class is for absolute beginners to the technique (basic standard crochet skills helpful but not mandatory). You will learn the foundation row, the basic forward and return passes, and master the essential Tunisian Simple Stitch (TSS), Tunsian Purl Stitch (TPS). You will also learn how to bind off and address common issues like curling. The project will be a simple, textured washcloth or scarf. Class project (pattern provided) details will be discussed in class along with material needed for this project. Cost is for a bundle of four 1.5 hour classes + cost of materials

Dive into the world of crochet! We'll cover the fundamental stitches: the chain stitch, single crochet, double crochet, half double crochet, how to start and finish any project. . You'll learn how to hold the hook and yarn comfortably, and read basic instructions. Class project (pattern provided) details will be discussed in class along with material needed for this project. Cost is for a bundle of four 1.5 hour classes + cost of materials

Ready to add patterns to your projects? This fast-paced, 3-hour workshop is the perfect next step for knitters ready to move from single-color projects to the exciting world of stranded colorwork (often called Fair Isle). You will begin a cozy, winter-themed tube scarf that is worked seamlessly in the round. We will focus on the fundamental skills needed to successfully work with two colors in a single round, setting you up to tackle hats, sweaters, and mittens!

Have a knitting or crochet project gathering dust because of a mistake you can't figure out? Don't let a small error derail your progress! This focused, 3-hour workshop is designed to teach you how to identify and fix the most common errors, giving you the confidence to carry on. With a maximum of four students, you'll receive dedicated, hands-on practice time to master these crucial recovery skills.

You'll start a triangular shawl, learning how to manage stitch counts over long rows and block the finished item for a professional look. You'll master the knit stitch (the foundation of the garter stitch), purl stitch, how to cast on (start), and how to bind off (finish). This class is for absolute beginners—no experience necessary! This is the essential workshop for graduating from flat projects to circular knitting. You will learn to knit a simple, slouchy beanie from the brim up, focusing on joining in the round without a twist, creating a stretchy 2x2 ribbed brim, and mastering the mathematical mystery of crown decreases to shape the top perfectly. This class is typically done on circular needles. Class project (pattern provided). Cost is for a bundle of four 1.5 hour classes + cost of materials
