Heart2Heart Book Club

Mary is starting a Book Club! Yes, you heard it here first!

Our first book selection is Outlander – Book 1. Why Outlander, you ask? Well, our wonderful Mary is just a little obsessed with the show and would love the chance to read through the series again. Even better, she wants to bring everyone along for the journey so we can read, gather, and enjoy chatting about the story together!

The first Book Club meeting will be July 9th at 10:00 AM, so grab your copy and start reading!

Now you may be wondering… what does this have to do with yarn? We thought you might ask! We’ll have exclusive colorways inspired by each book in the series, specially dyed by Jadawoo Designs and available for purchase in both DK and Fingering weight yarns.

Need a copy of the book? There is currently a wait list through the library, but there are several other options available. You can listen through Audible for 1 credit, check out used or new options through Amazon, or browse AbeBooks. Current options on AbeBooks include:

• World of Books – Outlander: A Novel for approximately $4.16 with free shipping
• Bellwether Books – Outlander Knitting for approximately $8.00 + $3.95 shipping

Books, yarn, and good company? Sounds like the perfect combination to us!

Join us on June 13 for
World Wide Knit in Public Day!

Grab your lawn chair, pack a few snacks, and bring along your favorite knitting or crochet project. We'll be gathering outside by the stairs for a day filled with stitching, laughter, great conversation, and community.

The shop will be open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, so be sure to stop inside and browse all the beautiful new yarns, kits, and goodies we've stocked just for you.

We can't wait to spend the day stitching with you!

A big thank you to all of our volunteers who generously gave their time during the LYS Tour last month. We couldn’t have made it happen without your dedication and support.

Let's knit our way into fall—one stitch at a time!

Classes

This is the essential workshop for graduating from flat projects to circular knitting. You will learn to knit a simple, slouchy beanie from the brim up, focusing on joining in the round without a twist, creating a stretchy 2x2 ribbed brim, and mastering the mathematical mystery of crown decreases to shape the top perfectly. This class is typically done on circular needles. Class project (pattern provided).
Cost is for a bundle of four 1.5 hour classes + cost of materials

Stop dreaming about crocheting a sweater and actually do it! This class is designed to conquer garment anxiety, walking you through the entire process of creating your first sweater. You'll master essential garment skills. Class project (pattern provided) details will be discussed in class along with material needed for this project.

We’ve all been there: a beautiful project stalled by one confusing instruction, or a dream pattern gathering dust because you aren’t sure where to begin. This class is your "green light." Whether you need help deciphering complex charts or just want the confidence to start the first row, bring your hurdles to us. Let’s clear the confusion, master the tricky parts, and get your project moving toward the finish line.

Don't let a dropped stitch or an extra increase ruin your rhythm. In this session, we turn "oh no" into "no problem." Learn how to identify exactly where things went sideways and—more importantly—how to fix it without ripping out hours of hard work. Bring in your "problem" projects and leave with the skills to handle any mistake with total confidence.

Ready to knit your very first pair of cozy, hand-knit socks? Socks are a rite of passage for every knitter, and this four-session course is designed to get you through every twist and turn with confidence. We’ll be using the Magic Loop method—a modern technique that uses one long circular needle to knit even the smallest circumferences with ease. Over four weeks, we will walk you through the entire "anatomy" of a sock: from the perfect cast-on and the magical turning of the heel to the final, seamless toe. With four dedicated sessions, you’ll have plenty of hands-on guidance to ensure your first pair fits perfectly and looks professional. Leave the "sock dread" behind and join us to master the most addictive project in knitting!

Take your knitting to the next level with the magic of Fair Isle! This four-week session is designed to take the stress out of colorwork, helping you tackle those stunning multi-colored charts with total ease. We will guide you through the professional secrets of "Two-Handed" knitting, managing your tension (floats) without puckering, and keeping your yarn tangle-free while working in the round. Because we meet for four sessions, there is plenty of time to troubleshoot your progress, master the rhythm of carrying two colors at once, and ensure your stitches look effortless and even. Join a community of makers and transform your knitting from simple to spectacular!

Lost & Found

For those who went to the movies with us on Monday, May 18th a
Knit Picks 16" cable was found.

If it is yours, please stop by and pick it up.  We have it in the shop.

Viking Fest 2026

Knitting Competition!

We were thrilled to Thank you to all the knitters who came out and participated in the very first Viking Festsee the creativity, talent, and hard work that went into each project. Thank you for sharing your beautiful knitting and helping make this first year such a fun and exciting event. We loved seeing all of your amazing entries and are already excited about what next year will bring!

With this being our first year, we had 10 entries, and while some knitters may have been a little hesitant about the patterns, we’re looking at this as just the beginning. We learned a lot and are excited to build on this foundation for an even bigger and better event next year.

We were also fortunate to have wonderful local judges Curtis Vincent, Kathi Foresee, & Michael Michael.   A special thank you also goes to Dana Seeger for creating the beautiful handcrafted ribbons that made the event even more special.

Next year will bring a special collaboration with a local indie dyer, along with brand-new patterns and fresh inspiration. We’re already looking forward to seeing even more knitters join the fun and can’t wait to see the turnout grow.

Stay tuned for our reveal of next year’s patterns and yarns — we can’t wait to share what’s coming!
